Friday Facebook Ads Tip #36: How to Target Facebook Groups with Ads (Part 2)

**Advanced Targeting Trick**

Last week I explained how to target Facebook groups with ads. It’s such a useful little trick.

You can check it out here: akingston.com/how-to-target-facebook-groups-with-ads/

This week I wanted to tell you how you can make it even more effective.

Step 1: Post a video on your Facebook page.

Step 2: Hide the video from your timeline to reduce direct engagement.

Step 3: Share the video in a group.

Step 4: Ensure you respond to comments on the video in the group to increase its engagement so that more people will see the video.

Step 5: Create an audience of people who have watched the video for 3 seconds or more to maximise the number of group members in your audience.

Step 6: Use this audience for future ads.

If you need help with this or have any questions feel free to drop me a line.

So last week I told you about sharing videos in groups to build audiences of the members in those groups so that you can retarget them with ads.

Now to take that a step further, if you really wanted to try and build an audience of just members of a group what you actually could do is post a video on your Facebook page, but then hide it so that none of your fans or nobody else is going to engage with that video.

And when you then share that video into the group, the only engagement or the only views on that video will come from people within that group.

And then to build the audience, what you want to do is use the minimum amount of time, because it doesn’t really matter if people viewed it. They might not have been interested in that particular video, but you know, you want to show them ads in the future.

So build an audience of people that viewed the video for three seconds or more.
