If you haven’t heard by now, Google will start configuring a Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property for you, based on your existing Universal Analytics (UA) property, if you choose not to set up GA4 manually.
In March, Google plans on starting this configuration. This may sound convenient, but we strongly recommend you set it up yourself and switch off GA4 Auto Migration.
If you need help with your GA4 setup, let us know, and we’ll be happy to tell you about our GA4 Migration services and how to switch off the GA4 Auto Migration.

Hey, I want to show you in Google Analytics how to switch off the Auto Migration from Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4.
So, if you haven’t set up Google Analytics 4 and you’re not quite ready to do it, just at least make sure you go in and do this. Because as I’ve mentioned recently, it’s not good to let Google do this Auto Migration.
So you’ll see when you’re in Analytics, you’ll have a banner up here like I do, telling you about Google Analytics 4 coming in July and telling you that starting in March, they will start doing this Auto Migration.
Now, right over here in the top right, you could click Manage GA4 Migration, or if you’re in the Admin section in Analytics, you can just hit GA4 Setup Assistant here, and that will bring you into this Setup page for Google Analytics 4.
And if you scroll right to the bottom here, you’ll see automatically set up a basic Google Analytics 4 property and just make sure that’s switched off as I already have here.
