“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now”
If you are not already running ads for your business on Facebook and Instagram, what are you waiting for?
Facebook ads can feel overwhelming so it’s easy to put them on the long finger but by getting some simple things in order now, you will thank yourself later.
Even if you are not ready to spend money on ads just yet, there are plenty of things you can do to get yourself into a position to start benefiting from Facebook and Instagram ads in the near future.
As discussed last week, focusing on growing a Facebook page and transitioning away from using your personal profile to promote your business is one such thing you can start right now.
Another is to ensure your Instagram account is a business account.
Then if you haven’t done so already, create a Business Manager account and connect it with your Facebook page and Instagram account.
And if you already have a website ensure it has the Facebook pixel installed so that you can start creating custom audiences of website visitors.

Last week I spoke about transitioning over from using a personal Facebook profile to using a Facebook business page to promote your business.
Now this opened up a number of conversations with a few people and people in particular who are doing just that, they’re using their personal profile to promote their business.
And I got the sense that there’s a feeling of overwhelm about Facebook ads, and that’s understanding, I mean, they can be pretty complicated.
But what I want to say to people, if you haven’t started doing Facebook ads yet, just take stock of what you have and you’d be surprised that you could be more ready than you think you are.
So for example, you’ve probably got a Facebook business page, you’ve probably got a website, so make sure you’ve got the Facebook pixel on your website.
If you have an Instagram account, make sure that’s a business account.
And then it’s easy to set up some custom audiences, for example, based on those assets. So just get started!
All the best, see you again next week!
