Beware of Custom Conversions

My tip this week is very simple, and it is Beware of Custom Conversions.

Custom conversions have always been very useful, particularly if you’d like to track when somebody makes it to a particular page on your website, like a thank you page or a confirmation page.

You can have multiple custom conversions for different things you’re doing, like different things you’re selling or when you get a lead.

However, the problem now is that because of the limitations Apple are putting on Facebook, and as I mentioned in my second last video, the fact that you will only be able to track eight events, so you can’t track multiple custom conversions.

For this reason, you need to start focusing more on standard events, so start transitioning over now from your custom conversions to use standard events for optimising your ads.
